The broadcast and print media are still a credible way to get third party endorsement of your policy or program and it’s still an effective way to amplify your news to a wider audience. In this full-day session, we will spend the morning exploring today’s media environment and providing attendees with tips and techniques for mastering the perfect pitch and for mastering the media interview. In the afternoon, attendees will have to a chance to put these tips into practice with interview role-playing, on camera, and individual pitch practice.
Local government and utility staff who may find themselves in front of a camera or answering a call from the media, including City or County Managers, Department leads, PIOs, Community Relations and Communications Specialists, and Program Managers.

0.8 CEUs | You may be awarded CEUs/PDHs for RPA training programs by your licensing or credentialing organization. RPA grants Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for this course at a rate of 1 CEU for 10 contact hours.
