Preparations for affordable water service meetings in DC

August 22, 2019

Access to drinking water is a human right. With water rates rising at about 2x the rate of inflation, drinking water affordability is a growing concern for many Americans. The American Water Works Association, Water Environment Federation and National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) have developed a new framework to help inform the federal policies that determine affordability, so utilities and municipalities across the US can assure their communities aren’t struggling to pay for this basic need. Raftelis Vice President and contributor to the framework, John Mastracchio, will join representatives from these agencies today in a meeting with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to determine how to move forward with it.
