Raftelis started the Raftelis Performance Academy, a training program specifically designed to meet the unique needs of local governments and utilities.
Raftelis acquires Westin Technology Soutions to provide additional technology expertise for our clients.
Raftelis acquires The Novak Consulting Group to enhance management consulting capabilities in all local government functions, such as police, fire, recreation, and HR.
Raftelis acquires Public Resources Management Group (PRMG) to enhance resources in Florida and the Southeast, and adding expertise in the electric, natural gas, and solid waste markets.
Raftelis drops “Financial Consultants” from our name because we do so much more than just financial consulting.
Peiffer Brandt becomes the President and Chief Executive Officer of Raftelis, with Bill Stannard shifting to the Chairman of the Board.
To comply with new regulatory requirements, Raftelis becomes a Registered Municipal Advisor with the MSRB and SEC.
The Fourth Edition of the guidebook, Water and Wastewater Finance and Pricing: The Changing Landscape is published, which is expanded to include more information on organizational issues and stormwater funding.
Raftelis’ leadership roles evolve as William Stannard is elected to the position of President and CEO and George Raftelis transitions to Chairman of the Board.
With the addition of several stormwater consultants, Raftelis expands its service offerings related to stormwater program development and funding.
To further strengthen our management consulting services, Raftelis creates a new division to focus on management consulting services for local governments and utilities.
George Raftelis retains his position as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Raftelis. Bill Stannard and Peiffer Brandt become the President and Chief Operating Officer of Raftelis, respectively.
George Raftelis, with input from a number of Raftelis consultants, authors the 3rd Edition of the book Water and Wastewater Finance and Pricing: A Comprehensive Guide. This book has become an industry standard in the field of utility rate setting.
The firm takes the first step in succession planning with George Raftelis selling a portion of his ownership interest to seven employees. Following the sale, the firm’s name is changed to Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc.
After being awarded a multi-year engagement with the U.S. Navy to provide services associated with the Utilities Privatization initiative, Raftelis hires four new consultants bringing our staff to a total of 14 personnel. Three of the four consultants hired for the Navy project are still with Raftelis today.
Raftelis begins conducting the Water and Wastewater Rate Survey. The biennial survey provides the water industry with rate, financial, and demographic data for over 200 water and wastewater utilities. We still conduct and publish the survey, which we now co-publish with AWWA.
After leaving his position as Director of Ernst & Young’s National Environmental Consulting Practice, George Raftelis, CPA founds Raftelis in Charlotte, NC under the name Raftelis Environmental Consulting Group, Inc.
