Last spring nearly 90% of water and wastewater utilities vowed to keep the water flowing, even if utility bills went unpaid. Whether through state, local government, or individual utility action, this decision had an impact.
This past summer, Raftelis surveyed water and wastewater utilities across the country. We gained insights into trends in delinquency, impacts on utility revenues, and most importantly, how utilities have reacted to growing numbers of delinquent accounts—offering customer assistance, reinstating shut-offs, and communicating with customers.
Check out the recording of this webinar where we review the survey results and speak to three major utilities – WSSC Water, Tucson Water, and Gwinnett County Water Resources Department – who share experiences that can help you navigate your own journey.
