Raftelis participating in EPA/USDA workshop on reducing nutrients in WW

August 14, 2019

Nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous are important for soil health, but when applied in excess, can find their way into our waterways, wreaking havoc on those ecosystems and impairing our sources of drinking water. Best practices are needed and often expensive. We need innovative ways to fund these efforts. Our Chairman, William Stannard, participated in a workshop in DC to help find solutions. Innovative Financing Strategies for Reducing Nutrients, sponsored jointly by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the USDA, brings experts from across the country to scope out ways both agencies can support this work. We’re grateful to have a seat at the table and look forward to the outcomes.
