Overview: In an ever-changing social and economic environment, responsible fiscal management of operational and capital resources is paramount. Each year Birmingham Water Works Board (the Board) performs a comprehensive evaluation of the Board’s planned costs, and uses those costs in conjunction with a defined set of financial policies to approve water rates for the following fiscal year. This intentional focus is integral to a successful and equitable annual budget and rate update.
