Early in 2020, Raftelis’ Strategic Communications Services Team led the creation of a 10-member Citizen Review Committee (CRC) to evaluate rate structure options. The CRC was made up of representatives from myriad stakeholder groups and Town staff and charged with studying the issues and carefully making recommendations to Town Council. Through a series of facilitated virtual meetings necessitated by COVID-19, the CRC ensured that the recommendation ultimately delivered to the Town Council represented the community, was responsive to the recently-updated Comprehensive Plan, and included measures to promote affordability. Feedback from one participant said it best, “The process was professionally handled, well thought-out, and came to a conclusion that helped our community achieve their goals. The agendas were well thought-out, and the meetings were facilitated professionally. I enjoyed the process and opportunity to participate.”
